Kankai bridge : The longest concrete bridge of Nepal

  Kankai or Kanakai (Both word are in writing tends) river is one of the famous river in Nepal as a religious secret river and due to its other advantage. The Kankai originates in the Mahabharat Range of Mechi zone in Nepal and flowing through nearly central part of Ilam and Jhapa district. Kankai bridge is known as the longest concrete bridge of Nepal constructed on Mahendra highway that add Kanakai and satasidham Municipality in Jhapa district.

The Kankai river is flowing with very clean and cold water excluding rainy season. So that people want to bath here. The water of Kankai river is used for irrigation and hydro electricity power.  Kankai area has not more pollution problem, but flow of the rainy season cutting valuable field in both edge every year.....

KANKAI DHAM, KOTIHOM : A NEW DESTINATION IN EASTERN NEPAL

 

 Brief Introduction :

              Kankai dham, Kotihom is a very famous religious & touristy site situated in Surunga village development, Jhapa district in eastern part of Nepal with area of about ten hectors. It is sprawling at the eastern bank of the Kankai Mai the sacred river that flows through the central part of the district.There are more than two dozens of small & big temples, inns, cloister etc.in Kankaidham. About the  history of its set-up,a grand ritual ceremony (Kotihom Mahayaggya) was performed here in 1985 AD with the outstanding inspiration and leadership of late Yogi Naraharinath a towering personality in the religious and historical field in and out of Nepal.  Since then it has been named kotihom and latter changed into Kankaidham,Kotihom.

   Now 'Kankai dham Religious Development Committee' is actively involving in it sustainable development of this area. The fire begun in the ritual ceremony of 1985 is still incessantly burning inside the alter of Shivapanchayan Temple which is being renovated into a concrete form. Every year more than a half million devotees  and tourists visit here for performing the ritual deeds such as worship,marriage/wedding, Bratabandha ( a religious ritual of giving a sacred thread to Hindu bachelor),Puraan (Mythology) etc.Moreover thousands of people from far and wide come here for getting peace mind by evading them from their hectic mechanical schedules of domestic chores and noisy disturbing environments.

        

             How to get Kankaidham, Kotihom ?

      It has easy accessibility. From Kathmandu take a bus to Surunga-Jhapa, a small town on the east-west Highway. you will reach there in ten minutes rickshaw ride. The other option is fly to Bhadrapure (45 minutes flight from Kathmandu) and catch a taxi. You will reach there in 30 minutes' drive from Bhadrapure airport.

           Things to do.

     Take a bath in sacred Kankai river. Enjoy and take photos of scenic view (natural gift).Relax among local people with their extra-ordinary lifestyle .Bird-watching. Walk around the for taste of rural lives.

नेपालको एउटा नया गंतव्य : कनकाईधाम कोटिहोम

      

    कनकाईधाम कोटिहोम पुर्वान्चलको एउटा महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक पर्यटन क्षेत्र हो | यो धाम नेपालको झापा जिल्लाको सुरुंगा गाबिस अंतर्गत कनकाई माई नदीको पूर्वीय  तटमा पर्दछ | बिगत  २०४२ सालमा राष्ट्रगुरु योगी नरहरिनाथको अगुवाईमा  यहाँ एउटा  बृहत् धार्मिक अनुष्ठान कोटिहोम माहायज्ञ   गरिएको  थीयो, त्यासपश्चात यस स्थानलाई कोटिहोम भनिन  थालियों र पछि सस्थागत हुदै गएपछि कनाकाईधामको रुपमा बीकशीत भयो | यस धार्मिक पर्यटन छेत्रको  बिकाश कोशको  लागि कनाकईधाम धार्मिक बिकाश सस्था कोटिहोम  सुरूंगा नामक निकायाले याहाकों सर्बांगिन बिकासको लागि कार्य गरिरहेको भए पनि यहाँ अरु २ दर्जन जति साना ठूला संघ सस्थाहरूले आ आफ्ना गतिबिधि गरिरहेको पाईन्छ | कोटीहोममा  २०४२ सालमा माहायज्ञ   गरिएको ठाउमा रहेको अग्नी आज पर्यन्त अबिछिन्न प्रज्वलित छ र सोही स्थानमा रहेको याहाकों शिवापान्चायन मंदिर हाल पक्की रुपमा निर्माण भै सकेको  छ | यस बाहेक यहाँ दर्जनौ पाटी, पौवा,धर्मशाला र मंदिरहरु  अबस्थित छन  | यस धार्मिक परिसरमा हाल निर्माणाधीन उद्यान बाटिकाले याहा आउने जो सुकैले बास्तबिक शान्ति र मनोरंजन  प्राप्त गर्दछ्न |

      कोटिहोममा बार्षिक  पाच लाख धार्मिक दर्शनार्थी  तथा पर्यटक आउने गरेको सस्थाको रिकर्डबाट देखिन्छ | बिशेष गरी  यहाँ आउने मानिसहरु पूजा आजा, बिबाह, ब्रतबंध,पुराण आदि धार्मिक कार्य गर्न साथै दैनिक ब्याबहरिक जीवनको अस्त ब्यस्तता शहरी कोलाहलपूर्ण बाताबरनबाट  मुक्ति पाउन  घुम्नको लागी याहाँ आउने चलन छ |  यस बाहेक यो स्थान     नेपालमा  सबै  भन्दा  बड़ी  थर  गोत्रीय सस्थाहरू एकीकृत भएको धाम पनि यो मात्र हो | साथी योगी नरहरिनाथले   नेपालमा लगाएका १०० भन्दा बड़ी कोटिहोम मध्ये यो तेर्हौ कोटिहोम हो र महायज्ञ पश्चात् सबै भन्दा बड़ी बिकसित भएको  क्षेत्र  पनि संभवत: यो नै हो | याहाको कनकाई  नदी किनारको खुल्ला र शान्त तटीय क्षेत्र , हरियालिपूर्ण जंगल, नजिकै  देखिने चूरे पहाडको  मनोरम दृश्य,कनकाई  नदीको स्नान योग्य स्वच्छ चिसो पानी र सर्व  सुलव सुगम क्षेत्र   भएको कारण सबैको  मन जित्न सफल हुदै गए पनि सस्थाको सिमित साधान  स्रोतको कारणले  याहा पर्यटकहरुको  लागि सुबिधायुक्त भवनहरू   निर्माण हुन नसकिरहेको कुरा महसूस  हुन्छ  |
